FREE CHEST/THROAT HELP

I don't know about you, but at this time of the year I always have chesty congestion, especially at night.  I usually use an extra pillow to raise my head and shoulders up a bit which makes breathing easier.

This ongoing issue I have resolved by making my own EASY cough syrup.  One dose before bed and all is well.  I used to make it for my children when they were small - they both had chest issues - especially Jesse.  It comes with having hypermobility and a collagen problem.  In me and my children lung issues is one way Hypermobility manifested.

Ingredients:
One onion sliced very thinly
One or two cloves of garlic also sliced thinly.
(I add a few chilli seeds, but not if I am giving it to children)
If there is a cough, as opposed to congestion, then teaspoon of cinnamon can be added.

Method:
Put this in a jar or a small bowl.
Drizzle a heaping tablespoon of manuka (or your own) honey over the top
and cover it.  leave overnight.

The resulting juice is taken by teaspoon about every four hours... don't make it a constant (it does taste good), as it is quite strong.
The cough syrup
The liquid in the front is the syrup (it is not thick like cough syrup).

Keep topping up the mix with  honey etc.  You can use the onions in a stir-fry after it has lost its potency.  Just slice another and more garlic and add.  Or start again.  It is better than paying $9 for even a Coles brand which is more like a science experiment than something for humans to drink.
