MAKING MULCH

If you gave a small yard, a balcony, or just like small pots, here is the answer to your mulching prayer.  Hessian Leaf Bags.  They were hard to find, and I wanted to find them for myself because I wanted to find a way of making mulch with the masses of garden leaves (especially oak), quickly and especially for my small pots.  Hessian is the answer, and these Bags can become mulch themselves as they are a natural fibre.   You just put the leaves into the bags and then leave them in a darkish space (under the deck for instance) for a few MONTHS, (that's how long it takes at my place, but it is colder here)    the result is perfect for mixing into loam for your pot herbs.

If that is well taken care of in your garden, you can use these bags for storing potatoes, other root vegetables or apples for instance.  I am sure there are uses I haven't thought of.  They are attractive, useful, organised and compostable.

Fantastic loose weave natural fibre.  Interested? go too www.myyogabooks.etsy.com.
